Yoga for a Cause

A Donation-Based Class Benefiting Empowered Minds

with Katie Borges

Thursday, May 10, 7:15-8:30pm

Urban Yoga takes pride in our mission to give back to the community!  Our giving partners are local non-profit organizations that are dear to our hearts and are huge influencers in our community.  We hold our Yoga for a Cause classes to bring awareness to these causes and raise money so that they can continue to make a difference in our community.

Empowered Minds is dedicated to teaching yoga and mindfulness to students and to creating learning-ready and compassionate classrooms, particularly in Title 1 schools in the Charleston area.

Empowered Minds, together with lululemon Charleston, is raising money to create and offer their very first yoga teacher training to Burke High Schools students which will provide career opportunities and diversify our yoga community.

We invite you to join us for this donation-based class to benefit this great cause.

This will be an all levels class, so every BODY is welcome!

Remember:  This is a donation based class, so please donate what you can and know that it's going to an amazing cause!

If you cannot attend and still would like to donate, please feel free to do so HERE!

Salute the Solstice: Charleston Yoga Fest

James Island County Park

Thursday, June 21, 5-8pm

Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission, Move IT! Charleston County, and the Charleston yoga community present our second annual Salute the Solstice Charleston Yoga Fest at James Island County Park. Throughout history, solstices and equinoxes have been sacred points to honor the flow of life on earth. The Summer Solstice is a time for us to come back to balance, and thrive in the joys of life.

As the sun rises to the highest point in the sky, Charleston will gather to Salute the Solstice, celebrating our connection and the light that is within each of us. This gathering is an opportunity to practice with teachers from Charleston's yoga studios. You'll experience meditation, 108 Sun Salutations, safe hands-on adjustments, live music from Thomas Champagne and Friends, and the sweetness of moving in nature.

Proceeds go to Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center!

All levels and kids welcome.

$25 through 6.20.18 // $30 on-site registration

  • Kids 12 and under are free, and a kids yoga class will be offered concurrently. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants under 15.
