In this two-hour workshop we will explore some of the basic postures, breathing and meditation techniques that make up the practice of Hatha/Vinyasa yoga. Students will leave with a basic understanding of proper alignment and technique, and will be prepared for most beginner and all level classes. Yoga is appropriate for just about anyone. You don't need to be flexible or be able to quiet the mind. You simply need the desire to show up and do your best. This workshop is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review the basics.

COST:

$35 (includes one free week of yoga at the conclusion of the workshop, one class a day beginning the day of the workshop)

You will be guided through pranayama, led through asanas that correspond to each chakra, given a mantra for each chakra, understand the elements and channels and how you have an entire universe within you.  We will explore how vibration and alignment create the change you can imagine in your life!  You will be empowered to move past the fluctuations of mind and emotion into high state of consciousness!  

Where thought goes, energy flows!  Come cleanse, declutter, and balance your mind, body and spirit!  Tune in and you will be tuned up!  

Polly Christy, teaching yoga since 2008, is a certified 800 hour teacher in Ashtanga based Hatha Yoga tradition of Jivamukti, a student of Sharon Gannon and David Life.  She has also been practicing Chinese Medicine since 1997, as a Master of Acupuncture, with emphasis on acupressure and massage.

The Ashtanga Primary Series is a set sequence of postures designed to bring strength, flexibility, and endurance to the body. It is designed to purify the body through the breath and the movement to invoke a stillness of the mind.

This 2 hour class will be the full primary series of the ashtanga system, led by Krista Block. This flowing, set-sequence of postures utilizes ujjayi breath and bandhas (energy locks) to increase muscular strength, flexibility, concentration and to deepen one's connection to Self.

This offering is appropriate for anyone who has the desire to learn yoga and for the experienced yogi alike.
